NIGERIA’S DESTINY IN THE NEW WORLD

MUSA-ODODO ABDULRAHAMAN

A Divine Guide to Manifesting Our Purpose and Destiny

(Through Biblical & Qur’anic Cycles, Christian & Islamic Cosmology)

PREAMBLE: A NATION AT THE CROSSROADS OF THE SACRED

Nigeria is not merely a political entity; she is a meeting point of covenants. Few nations on earth carry within one body the two great Abrahamic streams – Christianity and Islam – in near-equal measure. This is not accidental. In the language of Divine Providence, Nigeria is a bridge-nation, a testing ground where GOD examines whether humanity can transcend division and rediscover Purpose beyond power.

“He has made from one blood all nations of men to dwell on the face of the earth, and has determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation.”
(Acts 17:26)

“O mankind! Indeed, We created you from a male and a female and made you peoples and tribes so that you may know one another.”
(Qur’an 49:13)

Nigeria exists to know one another, not to destroy one another.

I. DIVINE TIME AND NATIONAL DESTINY

Biblical Understanding of Time

“To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.”
(Ecclesiastes 3:1)

Qur’anic Understanding of Time

“By Time (Al-‘Asr), indeed mankind is in loss, except those who believe, do righteous deeds, and counsel one another in truth and patience.”
(Qur’an 103:1–3)

Shared Truth:
Time is not neutral. Nations, like individuals, have appointed seasons. Nigeria has entered a season of accountability before elevation.

This is a kairos moment (Biblical) and a moment of Hisāb (Qur’anic).

II. THE LAW OF RISE AND FALL OF NATIONS

Biblical Cycle

“Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.”
(Proverbs 14:34)

Qur’anic Cycle

“And those cities – We destroyed them when they wronged, and We made for their destruction an appointed time.”
(Qur’an 18:59)

Shared Law:
No nation rises by power alone.
No nation survives without justice.

Nigeria’s present crisis is not economic alone – it is moral and structural.

III. NIGERIA AS A HOUSE DIVIDED – THE GREAT TEST

Biblical Warning

“Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation.”
(Matthew 12:25)

Qur’anic Warning

“And do not dispute lest you lose courage and your strength departs.”
(Qur’an 8:46)

Religion in Nigeria has too often been weaponized, not internalized. Both Scriptures agree: division is not diversity; it is self-destruction.

Nigeria’s test is not Islam vs Christianity.
It is Truth vs Manipulation.

IV. THE PHARAOH AND BABYLON PATTERN – SYSTEMS THAT MUST FALL

In the Bible: Babylon

“Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen… for all nations have drunk of the wine of her corruption.”
(Revelation 18:2–3)

In the Qur’an: Pharaoh (Fir‘awn)

“Indeed, Pharaoh exalted himself in the land and made its people factions.”
(Qur’an 28:4)

Shared Pattern:
When power becomes arrogant, centralized, unjust, and deceptive, GOD dismantles the system – not merely the leaders.

Nigeria is not being punished; Nigeria is being Purified.

V. THE CALL TO NATIONAL REPENTANCE AND RENEWAL

Biblical Principle

“If My people who are called by My name humble themselves, pray, seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will heal their land.”
(2 Chronicles 7:14)

Qur’anic Principle

“Corruption has appeared on land and sea because of what the hands of people have earned, so He may let them taste part of what they have done, that they might return.”
(Qur’an 30:41)

Repentance here is collective:

Repentance from corruption

From injustice

From ethnic and religious hatred

From leadership without accountability

VI. THE ROLE OF THE YOUTH – GOD’S CHOSEN INSTRUMENT

Biblical Witness

Joseph rose young and saved nations

David was a youth when he faced Goliath

“Let no one despise your youth, but be an example in conduct.”
(1 Timothy 4:12)

Qur’anic Witness

Ibrahim broke the idols as a young man

Ashāb al-Kahf were youth of conscience

“They were youths who believed in their Lord, and We increased them in guidance.”
(Qur’an 18:13)

Nigeria’s youth are not rebels without cause; they are reformers without platforms.

VII. NIGERIA’S DIVINE PURPOSE IN THE NEW WORLD

Nigeria is Called to Be:

A Bridge Nation

Between Islam and Christianity
Between Africa and the world
Between tradition and innovation

A Model of Post-Colonial Renewal

A Nation that proves Unity is possible without uniformity.

A Moral Voice in the New World Order

Not by force, but by example.

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.”
(Matthew 5:14)

“Thus We have made you a balanced community (Ummah Wasat).”
(Qur’an 2:143)

Nigeria’s Destiny is Balance.

VIII. PRACTICAL DIVINE GUIDELINES FOR MANIFESTATION

  1. Justice Above Identity

Law must be stronger than tribe or creed

  1. Consultation Over Domination

Shūrā and dialogue

Democratic ethics with moral depth

  1. Character as National Capital

Integrity in leadership

Responsibility in citizenship

  1. Unity of Purpose, Not Uniformity of Belief

Shared national mission

Mutual respect of faiths

CONCLUSION: THE CHOICE BEFORE NIGERIA

“I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life.”
(Deuteronomy 30:19)

“Indeed, Allah does not change the condition of a people until they change what is within themselves.”
(Qur’an 13:11)

Nigeria stands at a sacred threshold.

This is not the end of Nigeria’s story.
It is the end of old illusions.

If Nigeria chooses Justice, Humility, Wisdom, and Unity, she will rise as a beacon for the New World – a living testimony that Faith can Unite rather than divide.

This is our Divine Assignment.
This is our moment in Time.

OH PEOPLE OF NIGERIA – THIS IS OUR DIVINE AWAKENING!!!
