The Eternal Truth of Nationhood
GOD Almighty, the Creator of all, made only one Nation – the Nation of Mankind. Every other boundary, whether drawn by history, blood, geography, or power, is secondary to this divine reality. We are first and foremost members of one Human Family under GOD.
Humanity is not a mere idea; it is Life itself. It is the eternal truth that unites all people beyond tribe, religion, or race. Every nation that has risen to greatness drew its strength from a higher vision of unity that transcended lower forms of identity. Nigeria’s moment has come to embrace this truth as its New National Identity.
The Deeper Meaning of “Blood is Thicker than Water”
There is a popular saying: “Blood is thicker than water.” But the original phrase tells a different story:
“The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb.”
This means that the relationships and covenants we choose – those founded on shared purpose, vision, and destiny – are stronger and more sacred than inherited ties of birth.
Family is not just blood. Home is not just a building. Nationhood is not just ancestry or geography.
The true Nation is a Covenant of People united by higher ideals. For Nigeria, that covenant must be founded on a universal truth: “Humanity is Life.”
The New Nigeria Identity: Humanity is Life
Nigeria is the meeting point of Africa’s great civilizations, tribes, and faiths. Yet for too long, our diversity has been mismanaged, reduced to fault lines instead of strength. Ethnic, tribal, and religious divisions have held us back from our greatness.
But a New Nigeria is rising, built on a higher identity: Humanity is Life.
This transcends ethnicity, religion, and tribe. It calls us to see ourselves as universal beings – citizens of the cosmos, members of one human family.
This is the New Nigeria Consciousness:
To see every Nigerian first as a human being, not as Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba, Ebira, Tiv, Efik, or any tribe.
To rise above the divisions of religion and recognize that GOD made us one.
To live as brothers and sisters in covenant, not strangers in suspicion.
Creating the New Nigeria Consciousness: From Womb to Adulthood
If this identity is to define us, it must be cultivated consciously and deliberately. The New Nigeria Consciousness cannot be left to chance.
It must be taught, nurtured, and lived from the womb to adulthood.
In the Womb: Mothers must speak this truth to their unborn children. The foetus must hear words of love, unity, and humanity even before birth.
In the Cradle: From birth, children must be raised to know that their first and eternal identity is Humanity. Songs, lullabies, and lessons must carry this truth.
In Schools: Our educational curriculum must carry the philosophy of “Humanity is Life.” Every Nigerian child must grow with the consciousness that unity, love, and peace are the essence of nationhood.
In Adulthood: Every citizen must embody this new national spirit, seeing every other Nigerian not as “the other” but as one of us.
This is how we consciously build a nation – not through mere policies or systems, but through the deliberate creation of a New Consciousness.
The Path to Our Destiny
Nigeria carries a destiny greater than itself. We are not just another African country; we are called to be the birthplace of a new universal civilization – one that shows humanity how to live as one.
But we cannot fulfil this destiny unless we first embrace the truth: Humanity is Life.
This is more than a slogan. It is the New Nigeria Identity. It is the seed of peace, the foundation of prosperity, and the light that will guide us into our unparalleled destiny.
Conclusion
The New Nigeria must be consciously created. Our foundation cannot be tribe, religion, or language. Our foundation must be eternal and universal: Humanity is Life.
Let every Nigerian mother whisper it to her unborn child. Let every father teach it at home. Let every school engrave it in young minds. Let every leader embody it in governance. Let every citizen live it in daily life.
When this becomes our collective consciousness, Nigeria will rise to its ordained place as a beacon of unity, peace, and civilization for the world.
One Nation under GOD. One People. One Destiny. Humanity is Life.
