MUSA-ODODO ABDULRAHAMAN
Fellow Nigerians, Sons and Daughters of a Great Yet Unfinished Nation,
Today, I rise again, not merely to speak, but to call our nation – Nigeria – into a moment of sacred reflection and courageous decision.
This is not a political address. It is a Spiritual Convocation. A National Awakening.
A Call to Remembrance, Repentance, and Rebirth.
We must ask ourselves, with humility and honesty:
What truly is a Constitution? Why does ours not live in us? And how shall we give Birth to a New Nigeria that embodies our True Purpose and Destiny?
I. THE TRUE MEANING OF A CONSTITUTION
A Constitution, in its deepest sense, is not merely a legal document.
It is not just a manual of governance, nor a tool for politicians.
A true Constitution is the Spiritual, Philosophical, and Moral Foundation of a Nation.
It is the Soul architecture of a People – their Collective Covenant with themselves, with one another, with Posterity, and with the Divine Source of all Nations.
It is the mirror of our Identity, the Compass of our Destiny, and the Binding thread of our Unity.
A Constitution is not something we read – it is something we believe.
It is not something we obey by fear – but by faith, by conscience, and by shared hope.
Where it is merely written but not lived, it becomes hollow.
Where it is externally imposed but not internally accepted, it becomes ignored.
II. WHY NIGERIANS DO NOT OBEY THE PRESENT CONSTITUTION
Let us confront the painful truth:
The Constitution of Nigeria does not yet live in us.
It was not birthed by our collective will, nor born of our deepest values.
It was crafted without a common spiritual vision, without philosophical clarity, and without cultural soul.
As a result, it is seen not as a Sacred Covenant, but as a distant imposition.
Our people do not honor it, because it does not Honor Who We Truly Are.
III. THE SPIRITUAL ERROR: WE BUILT A COUNTRY WITHOUT FIRST BUILDING A NATION
No Constitution, however technically sound, can survive in a land where the people have no Shared Identity, no Common Purpose, and no Moral Vision.
We tried to build a country on paper, without building a Nation in the Hearts of the People.
We inherited borders, but we did not forge Brotherhood.
We proclaimed unity, but we did not Create Belonging.
We wrote a Constitution, but we never gave it a Soul.
This is why Nigeria stands, but does not yet Live.
IV. THE PATH FORWARD: THE CONSCIOUS CREATION OF A NEW NIGERIA
We must now Consciously Create the New Nigeria.
A Nigeria not born of colonial compromise, but of Divine Purpose.
A Nigeria whose foundation is not fear or force, but Faith and Vision.
To do this, we must first come together as a People – in Truth, Humility, and Sacred Dialogue – to define who we are, why we exist, and what we are called to become.
From this Awakening, shall be Born a New Constitution – one that is:
Spiritual: Rooted in our collective conscience and aligned with divine justice.
Philosophical: Guided by eternal truths about man, society, power, and destiny.
Cultural: Reflecting our true heritage, values, and dignity.
Visionary: Charting a clear national purpose – a Nigeria Dream all can believe in.
Living: Not just in books, but in hearts and habits, in homes and schools, in courts and communities.
This Constitution will not be a product of political convenience, but of Conscious Statecraft.
It will not be designed for mere governance – but for Nationhood.
V. THE FOUNDATIONS OF A TRUE AND ENDURING CONSTITUTION
Let every Nigerian understand: a True and Sacred Constitution must rest upon Eternal Principles, such as:
Truth and Justice – Beyond technical law, a foundation of moral rightness.
Natural Law and Divine Order – Respecting human dignity and the sacredness of life.
Equity and Inclusion – All voices heard, all communities honored.
Cultural Wisdom – Drawing from the deep wells of our diverse civilizations.
The Common Good – Putting Nation before tribe, and Purpose before politics.
National Destiny – A Clear Vision of the Future we are Called to Manifest.
Spiritual Legitimacy – So that citizens do not obey by compulsion, but by Conviction.
VI. LET THIS BE OUR NATIONAL COVENANT
Let us now declare, as a generation, that:
We shall not hand over a broken soul to our children.
We shall not pass on confusion in place of constitution.
We shall not allow the idea of Nigeria to remain abstract, lifeless, and unloved.
We shall Birth a New Nigeria, Founded on Truth, Inspired by Purpose, Governed by Wisdom, and Bound Together by a Constitution that Lives in every Citizen.
Let this be our Sacred Work, our Generational Mission, our National Rebirth.
VII. A FINAL CALL: ARISE, OH NIGERIANS!
Arise, not just to protest, but to Purpose.
Arise, not just to demand, but to Design.
Arise, not just to vote, but to Vision.
Arise, not just to resist the old, but to Consciously Create the New.
We are not merely the inheritors of a troubled country.
We are the Creators of a New Nation.
And from our Collective Wisdom, Sacrifice, and Divine Guidance, shall emerge a Constitution that Lives, Speaks, and Leads – a Constitution Worthy of Nigeria’s Destiny.
Let the Birthing Begin Now!
GOD bless you.
GOD bless the New Nigeria.
GOD bless the Nation yet to be born.
Shepherd of the Nigerian Destiny
